Hi Pilot congrats on a very difficult shot. Good composition with excellent detail and clarity and the exposure spot on - you caught the movement of the water at just the right moment. Artistically and technically well done - regards Colin

What is photoSIG?

photoSIG is a community of photographers and photography enthusiasts, ranging from amateurs to working professionals. photoSIG members may critique photos that have been submitted by other users and may also submit their own photos for review by the community.

What Can I Do Here?

If you're just starting out, then you might start by looking at the Tutorial, then proceed on to the Photos page to see the most recent photos submitted by photoSIG members. If you see a photo that you like, and you are a member, then you may enter a critique of the photo.

After you've seen the latest photos, you can try checking out the highest rated photos, or maybe the most controversial photos. You can also browse photos by subject category or by many other categories.

You can also stop by the Forums page, where you will find hundreds of messages from other photographers on various topics of interest.

Meet other photoSIG members!

photoSIG members around the world get together every month to meet each other in person and talk about photography or anything else. Meetups take place simultaneously in over 600 cities around the world. Visit the photoSIG Meetup page and RSVP for the next meetup near you!

July Assignment This item is new
from del/Administrator (0) on June 30, 2009 4:03:57 PM CDT

Chaos has a lot of meanings from mathematical to a role playing game to an album by the entertainer formerly known as the entertainer formerly known as Prince. This month at photoSIG, chaos means what members think it means.

For this month's assignment, make a photo of something that makes you think of chaos. It might be something actually chaotic, like extreme weather, or it might just be the appearance of your desk. Or it might be an abstract. If you create chaos in the studio, we are not responsible for dealing with the aftermath.

So, make a photo that comes from your idea of chaos. And put the words "chaos" and "July assignment" in the photographer's comment . If you want to add anything, please do.

To qualify for this month's assignment,
  • Submit a photo that is your idea of chaos, and
  • be sure to include the words "chaos" and "July assignment" in your comment.
If you have a story to go with the photo that you want to share with us, put it in the comment area below the critiques.

If you have any questions, email an admin. If your photo is deemed to not meet our assignment criteria and hence removed, please accept our decision graciously. Our decisions are not subjects for debate, so if you are not sure, ask first. To enter your photo into the assignment, just check off the box that says 2009 07 ~ Chaos and Disorder. You can view previous assignments here. You may submit as many photos as you like into the assignment. Good luck!

This assignment will be enabled on July 1 and run through July 31.
