This was in the Sistine Chapel in Rome. It was forbidden to make photo's over there and sopme angry guys were looking at everyone so noone did. I made this one, a crop off course, holding my cam besides my hip pointing upwards, keeping my body as still as possible.

Complimenti soprattutto perchè non è facile fotografare dentro la Cappella Sistina

Thanks for sharing. (The thumb is for the effort, hard to critique the shot for the reasons stated by the first critic.) I wonder why these guys are so careful about cameras. A no flash rule, I understand. But, why no pictures - 99.9% of the people taking a picture wont get a shot as good as they sell - why stop them? Rules against taking pictures owned by living artists, I understand. But, dead guys? Cheers, r

I agree, but i was suprised the shot came out like it did. But most people won't be this lucky when not using flash and just hipshooting away over there. It is famous and it is a bit exciting to take the photo when you know they are watching you to prevent so.

Yes, they keep a sharp eye out for people making obvious photos in the Sistine Chapel. It was smaller than I expected, though as chapels go it is large. I really enjoyed the Vatican and St Peters. One thing that surprised me about the murals is how "manly" the women in the paintings were. One can't really say a photo taken from the hip of an artwork made by another is anything more than a snapshot. You did manage to get the most famous part of the ceiling, though.

off course this is a crop of a little bigger photo. But i was aiming for this most famous part of the ceiling painting of Michaelangelo. Rome sure is wonderful to be, and lots of nice buildings, I hope you check my other photo's. There is also a picture of castel S Angelo. Near to the Vatica, the photo did not get any critics, but i still see it as a really beatiful pic.
